Overview
]
VistaOne is a mixed-reality headset for home fitness users, remote collaborators, and immersive-media enthusiasts who found existing headsets bulky, isolating, and confusing to set up. It pairs a lightweight optical design with a pass-through camera system and a simplified companion app. As Product Designer, I led the physical fit/comfort system, first-time setup flow, and the hand-tracking control model over a 4-month engagement with an optics and hardware team.

About Project
]
VistaOne cuts setup to under two minutes: automatic room-boundary mapping via pass-through cameras replaces manual drawing, and hand tracking removes controller pairing entirely for most apps. The dual-density face cushion and rear-weighted battery redistribute pressure away from the front of the face, extending comfortable wear time. A single physical dial replaces nested software menus for the two adjustments people actually need mid-session fit and volume keeping the physical object simple even as the system underneath handles complex spatial mapping.

[
Outcome
]
58% reduction in average setup time,
36% increase in average session length,
27% increase in 30-day retention among pilot households.
