Overview

]

AuraBuds are adaptive wireless earbuds for commuters and remote workers who move between noisy and quiet environments throughout the day. They automatically adjust noise cancellation and EQ based on ambient sound. As Product Designer, I designed the case-to-ear interaction model, adaptive control app, and packaging unboxing sequence over a 6-week project with an audio hardware team.

Commuters in our field study constantly manually toggled noise-cancellation modes when moving from a quiet train car to a crowded platform to a phone call, fumbling with touch controls mid-transit and often missing announcements or dropping calls in the process.

Product Solution

]

AuraBuds continuously sense the acoustic environment and automatically shift between noise cancellation, transparency, and adaptive EQ without user input — a train platform triggers stronger ANC, a conversation triggers transparency mode. A single tap-and-hold offers manual override for edge cases. The result is sound that feels responsive rather than something the user has to manage, reducing fumbling and missed audio cues during transit.
